Coach & Ride Leader - Newquay
Sarah Parkin
Sarah rediscovered her passion for cycling when she bought a bike to commute to work several years ago. From there, she followed the 'n+1' rule, acquiring another bike and delved into mountain biking after meeting Emma and Jane at a coaching session. With a background of 15 years as a Higher Level and Additional Needs Teaching Assistant at the same Primary School, Sarah also served as an Outdoor Learning Leader. Eager to share her love for cycling and the outdoors, she encouraged both children and adults to ride, running an after-school cycling club and assisting at events like The Cotton Cup. Now, Sarah devotes her time to the Cornwall Bicycle Project, where she coaches and assists Emma with administrative tasks. She holds qualifications as a British Cycling Coach L1, MIAS Level 2 Leader, Cytech Level 1 Mechanic, and is currently pursuing her BCCC L2 and Bike Ability Instructor Training. Additionally, Sarah serves as one of the Ride Leaders for the Newquay area, guiding cyclists through new routes in the back lanes or across Goss Moor for return-to-cycling rides.
