SEN Bikeability Sessions
Our SEN Bikeability sessions are specially designed to support children and young people with additional needs. Sessions are flexible, inclusive, and delivered at a pace that suits each rider, with experienced instructors who understand how to adapt activities to meet individual needs.
Whether your child is learning to ride for the first time, building confidence, or ready to develop road awareness, we’ll work with them (and you) to help them progress and enjoy the freedom of cycling.
Perfect for children who are just starting out or still using stabilisers. This session builds confidence and balance, helping them learn to ride independently in a safe and supportive environment.
For children who can already pedal / ride without stabilisers. They’ll develop key cycling skills in a traffic-free space – including starting and stopping safely, using signals, and basic bike control.
This combined course starts with Level 1 skills and then progresses to Level 2 - cycling on quiet roads. Your child will learn how to share the road safely, spot hazards, and make simple decisions at junctions – all with expert guidance.
Bikeability Level 2 builds on the skills learnt in Level 1, giving young riders the confidence and knowledge to cycle safely on quiet roads and local streets. This course is ideal for children who can confidently control their bike - Riders will develop essential road cycling skills, including choosing the correct road position, communicating with other road users, passing parked vehicles, and negotiating junctions safely.
Bikeability Level 3 is designed for riders who have successfully completed Level 2 and are ready to tackle more challenging road environments. This advanced course develops the skills and confidence needed to ride on busier roads, negotiate complex junctions, understand traffic flow, and make safe, informed decisions in a range of real-world cycling situations. By the end of the course, riders will be better prepared to plan journeys, cycle independently, and share the road confidently with other traffic.
